About
Why Houshin Engi?
Houshin Engi is one of my all-time favorite shounen manga series, and I mean that very seriously. I am known to have very capricious taste, but my top 3 shounen manga series will probably never change. I was first interested with this series by the anime. I am a sucker for historical war epics and, whaddya know, Houshin Engi is exactly that. However, the ending to the anime left me very unsatisfied, as it was abrupt and confusing. Years later, by pure coincidence, I came upon the manga series, scanlated by the wonderful SnoopyCool (who also scanlated another one of my favorite shounen manga series, Rekka no Honoo), who thank goodness finished the series.
After reading Houshin Engi in its completion, I was enraptured. I was firstly amazed by the level of complexity of the story. I never expected the ending to the Houshin Plan to be such; the anime had made no mention of it. I thought, for one, it was a very fitting ending. I have always chased after series that gave me the proper closure and often times, I do not find that. Many series have caught my eye with a great beginning, but rarely do they finish on a strong note. However, Houshin Engi was not like that. The story was very complex, with a miriad of characters and little plot lines. Somehow, miraculously to me, every loose string was tied to something in the end. I was not left feeling unsatisfied; I was very content with the ending. Everything that I wanted explained was satisfactorily concluded.
My love for this series has spanned several years now. However, I never foresaw myself actually owning its fanlisting. In the past year or so, the fanlisting has been removed from the network, approved, then removed, wash, rinse, and repeat again. I grew restless because during those cycles, I never applied once. Why, you ask? Well, the biggest reason had to be because I loved the series too much. I didn't want to see myself owning the fanlisting and then neglecting it. There had to be a better owner out there, I thought. However, after seeing it removed from the network twice because it was too long on upcoming, I decided that if there was no one else who is willing to take extremely good care of it, I would, even if I don't think I'm qualified. I needed to know I would be prepared to devote a lot of time to it if I were the owner.
So here I am, newly approved owner of the fanlisting and in the process of making a big shrine about it. It's a daunting task and I wonder if I am ever going to finish it. Let's hope for the best.
The above has been an adaptation of my TAFL application for the fanlisting.
The layout
The current version is the first one and it features Dakki from the cover of the second volume of the delux edition. I personally scanned the image from the Fujisaki Ryuu Illustration Collection. Dakki is one of my favorite characters from the series and I especially loved this image.
The layout is very simple. I didn't do too much to the image except a few gradients and a texture or two from Insomniac. Fonts used were Anglican Text and Carnevalee Freakshow. Everything else (the white stuff around the text, the two green stripes and the circly dotty swirly stuff) was all done by hand by me. Therefore, I ask that you refrain from taking any part of this layout for your own. It took me hours of painstaking clicking and dragging with the mouse! Not fun if you steal!

Why "antiquity"?
As usual, I was having a hard time picking a name and nothing came to mind! I was thinkign somewhere along the lines of "history" and came upon "antiquity" somehow. Don't ask how... I really don't know. -
Why Houshin Engi?
I think I wrote a section on that at the beginning of this page :3 -
I have a Houshin Engi/Fujisaki Ryuu-related website. Do you wanna affiliate?
Yeah sure! If you wanted to affiliate the fanlisting portion, please refer to this page. If you wanted to affiliate with the shrine portion of the website, then please refer to this page. -
Wow! All that media! Don't mind if I take~
I'm not going to stop you from downloading my media, as that's the purpose they're there. However, please make sure you've read the Terms of Use carefully and ask permission when you should! -
How come you have a lot of those "coming soon" pages?
I love Houshin Engi... but that doesn't mean I have a lot of time. I have planned this website out to be a pretty big project. There are many pages to write and media to put up. So please understand that I can't do a million things at once. Therefore, the coming soon pages are gonna be up for... a while. How long? I don't know... but not short.
